Teen girl killed and driver injured in UTV crash in Polk County

A tragic UTV accident in Polk County, Wisconsin, claimed the life of a 15-year-old girl following a crash on 250th Street in the Town of Farmington on Saturday evening. According to reports, the UTV veered into a ditch after the driver lost control, causing both the driver and the passenger to be thrown from the vehicle. Unfortunately, neither individual was wearing seatbelts or helmets during the accident. The passenger, also 15, was airlifted to Regions Hospital but succumbed to her injuries, while the driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. Authorities from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources are continuing to investigate the incident. This tragedy marked the 37th UTV/ATV fatality in Wisconsin this year, with eight of those fatalities being children, as per DNR records.
