A teenager from Troy, Everett R. Hatlee, was sentenced to spend five to 15 years in prison after causing a fatal car crash while under the influence of marijuana. The incident, which occurred in June 2024, resulted in the death of 14-year-old Kiera Ebert and serious injury to a 16-year-old. Hatlee, 19, admitted to the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office that he was responsible for the tragic events that unfolded when he drove recklessly down Fonda Road in Waterford.
