An 18-year-old man from North Highlands tragically lost his life in a rollover accident that occurred on southbound Highway 65 in Yuba County, according to the California Highway Patrol. The collision, which resulted in the closure of the highway, took place at around 2:11 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of Highway 65 and McGowan Parkway. A Toyota Camry was involved in the crash and ended up overturned on the right shoulder with significant damage. Despite witnesses’ efforts to aid the teenage driver by removing him from the vehicle and providing assistance before emergency services arrived, the young man sadly succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Two other passengers from the Camry were transported to a nearby hospital with minor to moderate injuries. The investigation revealed that the Camry attempted to pass a Honda Accord, prompting the Accord driver to make a left turn that led to the Camry losing control. The vehicles collided, causing the Camry to spin out of control, hit an embankment, and overturn multiple times. One passenger in the Accord sustained minor injuries, while the driver and another passenger were unharmed. The authorities clarified that alcohol or drugs were not contributing factors in the accident. Stay updated on traffic developments by checking our live traffic map.
