Teen from New York dies in jet ski accident during family trip to Florida
A tragic jet ski accident in Fort Lauderdale, Florida has left a 13-year-old New York teenager, Rachel Aliza Nisanov, dead and her 16-year-old sister, Aviva Bracha Nisanov, in critical but stable condition. The incident occurred when the watercraft operated by the teens lost control and collided with a concrete dock. The girls were on a family vacation celebrating Rachel’s graduation when the crash happened. Their father, Shlomo Nisanov, a well-known rabbi in New York, was also on a personal watercraft at the time and witnessed the accident. He jumped into the water to try to save his daughters, despite not knowing how to swim. Tragically, Rachel did not survive her injuries. The family is devastated by the loss and is finding strength in their faith as they prepare for Rachel's funeral in New York before laying her to rest in Jerusalem. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, as it is revealed that Florida law requires watercraft operators to be at least 14 years old, with a driver needing to be at least 16, which was the case with Aviva.
