Teen Flown to Hospital Following Car/Mini Bike Collision
A collision involving a car and a mini bike resulted in injuries to one individual in Fayette County. The incident took place yesterday afternoon just after 3pm near Wadena, according to the Iowa State Patrol. Rylee CHMELICEK, a 13-year-old, was traveling eastbound on West Sacramento on a mini bike when he failed to stop at a posted sign at the intersection of Sacramento and South Mill Street. He collided with a vehicle operated by Sandra Butikofer, 68, from Manchester. Chmelicek's injuries were serious enough to require an airlift to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, while Butikofer did not sustain any reported injuries. As of now, no charges have been brought, and the authorities are continuing to investigate the accident.
