Teen driver severely injured in Reno County collision
A 19-year-old man from Hutchinson is currently in critical condition following a crash in Reno County on Wednesday afternoon. The incident, which occurred around 3 p.m. on North Plum Street, involved a Corvette veering off-road, striking a tree, and tumbling into a ditch. The driver had to be extracted from the vehicle and was swiftly transported to a hospital in Wichita. Another vehicle, a Dodge Charger driven by a 20-year-old from Plevna, was also part of the collision, sustaining minor injuries. Both cars were traveling north on Plum when the Charger attempted to overtake the Corvette, resulting in a collision that caused the Corvette to leave the road. Speed is speculated to be a contributing factor in the accident, which is currently being investigated.
