Teen driver refutes accusations in deadly accident legal case
A recent development has emerged in a legal case involving the family of a victim of a tragic accident at a local bar and restaurant in Wichita Falls. In March 2024, 39-year-old Edgar Alarcon lost his life in a crash at the intersection of Kell West and Holiday Street, caused by 20-year-old Dakota Phillips driving under the influence. Phillips, indicted for intoxicated manslaughter, was found to have a blood-alcohol level significantly above the legal limit at the time of the incident. Alarcon's family has initiated a lawsuit against Phillips, along with P-2, The Deuce, and The Warehouse, seeking damages exceeding one million dollars. Allegations state that Phillips, underage at the time, had been drinking at The Warehouse before the accident. P-2 and Phillips have issued general denials in response to the lawsuit, with Phillips requesting a jury trial to determine the outcome.
