Teen dies in Waukesha crash; man faces sentencing hearing

Jason Zehe, 19, who was involved in a fatal crash in Waukesha resulting in the death of 17-year-old Megan Voss, pleaded guilty to charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and second-degree recklessly endangering safety. Zehe was then sentenced to 10 years in prison with an additional 10 years of extended supervision. The incident occurred when Zehe's vehicle, speeding on Sunset Drive, ran a stop sign and collided with two other vehicles at the intersection of Sunset and Guthrie on December 30, 2024. Although two other felony charges and three misdemeanors were dismissed, Zehe's guilty plea led to his prison sentence. Voss, a student at Waukesha West High School, was described by classmates as selfless and compassionate. Her tragic passing has deeply impacted her community, with her brother noting that the family was anticipating her upcoming graduation. Additionally, Voss's dog, Bleu, who was in the vehicle at the time of the crash, had to be euthanized due to injuries sustained.
