Teen dies, another injured in Calhoun County crash.
A tragic accident in Calhoun County resulted in the loss of a 15-year-old's life and injury to another individual. The incident took place at the intersection of US 20 and Fletcher Avenue, just after 7 a.m. northwest of Rockwell City. Iowa State Patrol reports indicate that a Ford truck heading north on Fletcher Avenue failed to stop at a stop sign, leading to a collision with a mack semi traveling on US 20. The truck ended up in the south ditch, where the driver, Cadyn Ogden, 15, lost their life. The semi came to a stop in the median, with the driver, 71-year-old Richard Kanne, sustaining injuries. Dense fog was noted during the collision, and response teams from the Iowa DOT, Calhoun County Sheriff's Office, Emergency EMS, and Lytton Fire Department and Rescue assisted the Iowa State Patrol at the scene.
