Prosecutors have accused a 17-year-old girl named Dashauna Egerson of purposely running a red light during a high-speed police pursuit last week, resulting in a tragic crash that claimed the lives of three members of a family from the Milwaukee area. The incident occurred at the intersection of 35th and Vilet and took the lives of 50-year-old Pler Moo and her two sons, 21-year-old Moo Nay Taw and 15-year-old Kar Lah Kri. Additionally, two of Moo's other children sustained serious injuries. Egerson, who is currently facing criminal charges, potentially faces up to 168 years in prison if convicted on all counts. Another individual involved in the incident, 19-year-old Milwaukee resident Trevon Loston, is also facing charges, including gun-related offenses and driving without the owner's permission. Prosecutors emphasize the severity of the case, pointing out the significant prison time Egerson could potentially face. The tragedy has deeply impacted the community, with loved ones mourning the loss of the victims who were described as a close-knit refugee family. A GoFundMe page has been created to help with funeral expenses and medical bills. Since the beginning of 2025, there have been six reported incidents, including this one, in which police pursuits have led to the deaths of a total of nine individuals.
