Teen charged in crash that killed 20-year-old woman in York County, Pa.

A 16-year-old boy was charged for a deadly hit-and-run crash in York County back in January, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The wreck happened on Susquehanna Trail South near Seaks Run Road in Springfield Township the night of Jan. 17. An investigation revealed a Chevrolet Tracker, occupied by 20-year-old Amelia McEvoy and two others, was traveling south when another vehicle traveling north crossed into their lane, causing them to swerve to avoid collision. The Tracker swerved off the road and slammed into a tree, and the suspect vehicle continued to drive away, according to police. McEvoy was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other passengers in the Tracker suffered serious injuries. Teen charged After further investigating and going through evidence from phones, video surveillance and statements from witnesses, police said they were able to determine that the suspect vehicle was an Acura TL, driven by 16-year-old Danneyber Garcia-Villarroel.Troopers said Garcia-Villarroel was driving recklessly and was speeding past vehicles prior to the deadly crash. "His direct actions are what caused the crash which killed Amelia McEvoy," state police said.
