Teen arrested after police pursuit leads to fatal crash
A 17-year-old boy has been taken into custody in connection with a police pursuit in Milwaukee that ended in a fatal crash near 51st and Center streets over the weekend, resulting in the death of an innocent driver. The incident occurred when officers observed a vehicle near 60th Street and West Meinecke Avenue, which was being sought in relation to a recent non-fatal shooting. Witnesses described the chaotic scene, with one noting how they heard sirens, pulled over, and witnessed the police chasing someone. The collision transformed three blocks of Center Street into a major crime scene, where the innocent driver, identified as 30-year-old Hasan Harris, tragically lost his life and a 31-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries. Two individuals fled from the suspect's vehicle, prompting a search by authorities through alleys and yards as neighbors watched on. A third unidentified individual was hospitalized with serious injuries.
