Teen accused in fatal hit-and-run in New Bedford
A teenager from Dartmouth, Massachusetts is facing charges after a hit-and-run accident that resulted in the death of a New Bedford mother of three following a midnight church service on New Year's Eve. The 16-year-old faces several charges including motor vehicle homicide and leaving the scene of the crash, and is set to appear in juvenile court in New Bedford. The victim, Nicolassa Ventura Colaj, was struck by a vehicle as she was leaving the church gathering and later passed away at a hospital.
