Suspected DUI driver causes fatal crash in Butte County, according to CHP
A fatal car accident occurred on Wednesday night in the Oroville East area of Butte County, as reported by the California Highway Patrol. The incident, which took place at approximately 7:17 p.m. on Highway 162 close to the Old Olive Highway intersection, involved a collision between an eastbound pickup and a westbound vehicle. Tragically, the driver of the westbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup has been apprehended on suspicion of driving under the influence.
