Suspected Driver in Deadly Hit-and-Run Dies in Another Vehicle Accident
A man who was accused in a fatal hit-and-run accident earlier this year tragically lost his life a few weeks later in a separate car crash that led to the deaths of three individuals on a Texas highway. Agustin Guillen, 38, was reportedly driving a vehicle that struck and killed motorcyclist Shawn Oveisi, 47, in Austin on May 6. Guillen fled the scene and falsely claimed his vehicle was stolen to evade charges. He was arrested on June 11 on a felony charge but was released on bail the next day. On June 29, Guillen was involved in a rollover crash on Interstate 35 in Round Rock, where two individuals who stopped to help were killed by a third driver, 22-year-old Kearra Thomas. Thomas has been arrested and faces two counts of manslaughter, with potential additional charges pending in Guillen's death. Guillen's felony case was dropped by prosecutors on June 30 due to his passing.
