Suspect in St. Cloud crash killing 2 others dies

St. Cloud Police have reported that Christopher Cortez Johnson-Caine, the man suspected of causing a fatal crash earlier this month that resulted in the deaths of two St. Cloud men, has also passed away. Johnson-Caine, 26, succumbed to injuries sustained in the accident that occurred on July 2nd on the 1300 block of 10th Avenue North. The crash involved a truck colliding with a passenger vehicle, leading to the fatalities of the two occupants of the car, identified as 59-year-old Suleiman Mohamud Abdi and 45-year-old Craig Arthur Hennen. Johnson-Caine had been in critical condition before his passing. Police revealed that his blood alcohol level at the time of the crash was .309, significantly surpassing the legal limit. The incident unfolded when an officer attempted to stop the speeding truck, driven with its headlights off, on the 1100 block of 8th Avenue North. The driver fled, throwing a gun out of the window, and managed to evade the pursuing officer.
