Survivor urges Utahns to always wear life jackets

Tiffinie Wolf found herself in a scary situation on the Provo River when her paddleboard flipped, causing her sandal to get stuck and trapping her in the water with only her head above the surface. She emphasized the importance of wearing a life jacket, especially after her own close call. Utah's Department of Natural Resources is emphasizing water safety as the holiday weekend approaches, following recent drownings and accidents at reservoirs across the state. Chief Todd Royce of DNR's Division of Law Enforcement stressed the necessity of life jackets, noting that only a small percentage of people voluntarily wear them. Additionally, there has been an increase in OHV accidents due to lack of safety measures and operating under the influence. Capt. Chase Pili urged people to stay safe and responsible while out on the water or driving OHVs.
