Students injured in Texas school bus crash on first day of school

On the first day of classes, a Texas school bus carrying over 40 students veered off a rural road and rolled over, causing injuries to multiple students. According to authorities, at least one individual has life-threatening injuries, with two others potentially facing similar conditions. The bus, which was transporting primarily elementary school students from the Leander Independent School District, exited the road for unknown reasons and flipped over. Emergency officials reported that it was raining at the time of the accident, although the impact of weather conditions remains uncertain. The incident is currently under investigation. The bus, manufactured in 2024, is equipped with state-required seat belts that the students are expected to wear. Around 15 students and the driver were taken to hospitals for treatment, while no students had been dismissed at the time of the crash. The school district's Superintendent, Bruce Gearing, expressed condolences and vowed to provide support to the affected students and their families.
