Street race in Modesto ends in crash, driver hospitalized and another arrested, CHP reports

A recent incident on Highway 99 in Modesto resulted in one driver being hospitalized and another driver being apprehended by authorities after they were allegedly involved in a race that ended in a crash. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Corvette and a Mustang were speeding northbound on Highway 99 when the Corvette driver lost control, leading to a rollover accident. The Corvette driver, a 26-year-old from Citrus Heights, sustained major injuries after being ejected from the vehicle. The Mustang driver initially stopped at the scene before fleeing, but was later arrested on various charges including reckless driving causing bodily injury. The CHP emphasized the dangers of street racing in a public statement.
