Stolen vehicle clashes head-on after speeding into Mt. Juliet
A stolen vehicle being followed by Metro Nashville police crashed into another car in Mt. Juliet after speeding into the area, as reported by the Mt. Juliet Police Department. The incident unfolded on Central Pike, with MNPD informing MJPD at around 1:24 p.m. of the approaching stolen car, which was being tracked via GPS. Positioned officers along the route, a sighting occurred at 1:38 p.m. near Springdale Elementary of the stolen vehicle speeding. Before the crash, an MNPD officer had attempted to stop the vehicle but failed as the driver fled, with no pursuit by MNPD. Despite Mt. Juliet officers' attempts to catch up, they lost visual contact before discovering the scene of a head-on collision on Central Pike. At the site, officers helped put out a fire and provided assistance to both occupants of the stolen car, who sustained serious injuries. Additionally, eight individuals from the other vehicle involved were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the incident.
