Steven Bailey to plead guilty in fatal crash at Park Tavern

The individual accused of murder and drunk driving in relation to crashing into the patio at Park Tavern in St. Louis Park, which resulted in two fatalities and injuries to several others, is expected to enter a guilty plea shortly before the start of his criminal trial. Court documents indicate a plea hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning for the defendant, Steven Bailey. Prosecutors have stated that Bailey intends to admit guilt in the case, though specific details of the plea have not been disclosed. Revised charges against Bailey include criminal vehicular operation while under the influence of alcohol for the victims referred to as C.S., M.G., and N.L., each having suffered varying injuries. Bailey is also facing charges of causing great bodily harm to victims L.K. and T.L. A recent update on the case mentions that Bailey was observed driving into the parking area of Park Tavern and then crashing into the patio section. Following the incident, his blood-alcohol content was reportedly four times the legal limit. The tragic accident resulted in the loss of two lives and injuries to multiple individuals. May 12 is the scheduled trial date, but a plea hearing has been arranged for 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday. Bailey, who initially pleaded not guilty to the charges in December 2024, was previously released on a bond of $500,000 and is currently restricted from contacting the victims or operating a vehicle.
