State Police probe deadly motorcycle crash in Lewis
A Westport man, identified as Jeffrey E. Charles, aged 56, passed away due to a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred early Sunday morning in Lewis. The incident took place around 2 a.m. at the intersection of County Route 10 and Hurley Road. Charles, riding a black 2008 Harley-Davidson, lost control of his motorcycle while navigating a curve, causing him and the bike to veer off the road and strike a tree. Despite life-saving measures performed by Elizabethtown and Lewis EMS teams, Charles unfortunately succumbed to his injuries after being taken to Elizabethtown Community Hospital. The investigation into the crash was ongoing as of Monday morning.
