State Police advise bikers to reduce speed and drive cautiously
State troopers are urging motorcyclists to be cautious and vigilant while riding this summer. Recent crash data revealed that 10 motorcyclists have lost their lives in accidents so far this year, compared to 12 at this time last year. Several serious motorcycle accidents have been reported by News 9, including ones in Barnstead, Laconia, Brentwood, and Ashland. In Ashland, eight motorcycles were involved in a crash on Scenic View Road last Friday. New Hampshire State Police Lt. Michael Kokoski emphasized the importance of safety practices such as slowing down, staying focused, and being visible on the road, stating that each crash represents a tragic event for a family. A new media safety initiative was launched before the conclusion of Motorcycle Week in Laconia, promoting the use of helmets, driving sober, and being alert for distracted drivers.
