
Stafford deputies charge driver with DUI after car crashes and goes airborne
In Stafford County, Virginia, authorities reported that a car crashed after the driver, who was intoxicated, went airborne on Richmond Highway near Bells Hill Road. The incident occurred on June 12 around 4:15 p.m. Authorities were alerted by a witness who saw the driver veer off the road and watched the car fly through the air before crashing. The driver fled the scene but was later found by deputies at the registered owner's residence. Upon confrontation, the driver, displaying signs of inebriation, admitted to the crash. Officials discovered a crushed can of Heineken in the car. The driver was arrested by the Stafford County Sheriff's Office and charged with offenses including driving under the influence, reckless driving, and hit and run. He is currently detained at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2,500 secured bond.
