Staff member admits to homicide in fatal PWC crash at camp

During one summer, I worked as a camp counselor in upstate New York, where I faced the challenge of ensuring the safety of many campers. Recently, two former camp staffers in the US had a tragic accident while riding personal watercrafts that resulted in the death of a 10-year-old camper, Jack Gear. The staffers, Joshua Kennington and Savannah Remington, were sentenced to two years of supervised probation after pleading guilty to reckless vehicular homicide charges. The accident occurred when the staffers collided with each other while Jack Gear was riding on the back of Remington's watercraft. The incident highlighted the importance of proper training and supervision of camp employees. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Gear family during this difficult time.
