
Springfield resident killed in motorcycle accident
In Greene County, a tragic motorcycle accident took the life of a 25-year-old Springfield man on July 9. The collision, detailed in a report by the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), occurred at 1:05 p.m. on Republic Road at South Hemlock Avenue, one mile east of Republic. The incident involved a 2011 Chevrolet HHR driven by a 39-year-old Springfield woman who failed to yield, causing a collision with the man riding a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 motorcycle. The young man was fatally injured, and his death was confirmed at Cox South hospital. The pertinent family members have been informed. Regrettably, this marks the 62nd fatality for MSHP Troop D in 2025.
