Speeding Florida driver caused fatal crash, splitting car in half, police report
A man from Boynton Beach, identified as Dale Drotar, was taken into custody on Wednesday by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office for his involvement in a fatal accident near Boynton Beach back in April. This tragic incident resulted in the death of 25-year-old Natalie Pierre after the car she was in, a 2020 Toyota Camry, was split in half during a collision with Drotar's 2019 Chevrolet Corvette at Military Trail and Cedar Point Boulevard. Drotar, facing multiple charges including vehicular homicide and DUI manslaughter, was driving at 135 mph when he crashed into the Toyota. The impact sent debris flying, causing minor damage to two other vehicles. Drotar was found to have marijuana and a blood alcohol content of 0.126 in his system at the time of the crash. He is now in custody at the Main Detention Center with bail terms including house arrest and no driving privileges, due to his history of traffic violations, with the most recent being in October 2024 for speeding.
