Speeding car crash at Pune Metro station kills 2, injures 1
Tragically, two individuals lost their lives and another was left in critical condition after a speeding vehicle collided with the pillar of the Pune Metro's Bund Garden station early Sunday morning. The deceased were identified by the police as Rutvik Vinayak Bhandari, also known as Om, 23, a finance MBA graduate working for a private firm in Pimpri Gaon, and his cousin Yash Prasad Bhandari, 23, a software engineer in Pune. The injured party, Khushwant Kishor Tekwani, 19, a BTech student residing in Beed district and studying at MIT College in Pune, is currently receiving life support. According to Senior Inspector Sangeeta Jadhav of the Koregaon Park police station, the accident occurred around 5 am near the station. The vehicle, carrying three passengers, crashed into the station pillar at high speed causing severe injuries. Local residents and authorities promptly transported the injured to Sassoon General Hospital. Jadhav confirmed the two fatalities and the critical condition of the third individual, with efforts being made to notify their families. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact reasons behind the accident, with initial findings pointing to loss of control by the driver. Surveillance footage from the vicinity is being analyzed to shed more light on the unfortunate incident.
