Speed and alcohol believed to be factors in fatal east Wichita collision

Late Saturday night in east Wichita, a fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Central Avenue and Webb Road involving a black Chevy truck, a BMW, and a Jeep. Two women in the BMW, aged 42 and 25, tragically lost their lives, with the older woman pronounced dead at the scene and the younger woman passing away later at a local hospital. The driver of the Jeep was unhurt, while the Chevy driver, an 80-year-old woman, sustained injuries and was hospitalized. Speed and alcohol are suspected to have played roles in the accident, emphasizing the importance of making wise choices while driving, especially during this Labor Day weekend. The Wichita Police Department is actively investigating the incident.
