Sparta team rescues driver from creek following bridge incident
Emergency responders in Sparta were called to the scene of a car accident on Wednesday, November 5th. A vehicle had veered off a small bridge near the intersection of T Highway and Lost Creek Road. The Sparta Fire Protection District shared on social media that they assisted with a two-vehicle collision at around 2:45 p.m. during which a person needed to be rescued from their car which had landed in a creek. Through the use of rope systems, responders successfully extracted the individual and transferred them to an awaiting ambulance. Luckily, the victim sustained only minor injuries. Various other agencies including the Ozark Fire Protection District, Christian County Ambulance District, Finley River Towing, and the Christian County Sheriff's Department also provided support during the incident.
