Spanish couple identified as victims in deadly New York helicopter accident

Two of the adults who tragically lost their lives in Thursday's helicopter crash in New York have been identified as Agustín Escobar and Merce Camprubi Montal, a married couple from Spain. A City Hall spokesperson reported that they were among the victims alongside three children and another adult, the pilot. The identities of the other individuals have not been disclosed. Mr. Escobar, a senior executive at Siemens, was the CEO of rail infrastructure at Siemens Mobility Division, having previously served as CEO and president of Siemens Spain. Siemens expressed deep sorrow over the loss of Escobar and his family. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called the crash an "unimaginable tragedy." The flight, one of the tourist helicopter rides over Manhattan, departed from the Wall Street heliport and crashed in the river after turning near the George Washington Bridge. President Donald Trump commented on the incident on Truth Social, offering condolences to the victims' families and friends.
