JOLIET, Ill. — The southbound lanes of I-55 in southwest suburban Joliet have been closed Sunday morning at the scene of a fatal crash, according to Illinois State Police. ISP says the multi-vehicle crash happened just after 5 a.m. on I-55 southbound at Black Road. No further details on the crash were available, but ISP confirmed it was a fatal crash. All southbound lanes of I-55 were still closed at the scene as of about 10 a.m. Sunday, with traffic being diverted off at U.S. Route 30.
