Southbound I-94 closed in Northbrook due to fatal accident
A serious accident on Monday afternoon has caused the closure of southbound I-94 in Northbrook. Illinois State Police were called to mile marker 30 near Dundee Road and Route 41 around 12:30 p.m. following a report of a fatal crash. They found a severely damaged black vehicle in a nearby ditch filled with water. Another vehicle involved, an SUV, had less damage visible. Unfortunately, one person has been reported dead as a result of the accident. The southbound lanes, as well as the ramps from Dundee and Lake Cook Road, are currently shut down. SkyCam9 footage displayed heavy traffic congestion in the area. No further details regarding the incident are yet available.
