Southbound I-25 lanes shut down near Denver due to semi truck accident
Southbound lanes of I-25 were back in operation after being shut down north of Denver due to a collision involving a semi truck and multiple vehicles on Wednesday morning. The incident occurred close to mile marker 220, just south of East 104th Avenue. The aftermath of the crash, which involved a semi truck and three vehicles, was captured on a Colorado Department of Transportation camera showing several vehicles on the roadside and a leaking fuel tanker. The closure spanned from Exit 221-104th Avenue to Exit 220-Thornton Parkway, with southbound traffic rerouted off I-25 at 104th Avenue. Many individuals were taken to the hospital following the crash, although the severity of their injuries remains unknown. Investigations are underway to determine the events leading up to the accident. Commuters were advised of significant delays due to the miles-long backups.
