Southbound I-15 closed in Payson closed due to fatal crash
PAYSON — At least one person is dead, and southbound I-15 has been shut down in Payson following a crash Tuesday afternoon.The crash happened about 4:45 p.m. roughly 2 miles south of the freeway's junction with state Route 164. Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Jared Heywood said the crash resulted in a fatality and that he is working to get more information.Utah Highway Patrol suggests drivers seek an alternative route. Traffic is being diverted, but those who continue to use I-15 can expect heavy delays. There is no estimate as to when the southbound lanes will reopen to traffic.This story will be updated.
