In Aurora, a recent collision led to two pedestrians being transported to a hospital with critical injuries and prompted closures on South Peoria Street. The Aurora Police Department reported that investigators were on-site examining a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian. By 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, the road was accessible for traffic again. Two pedestrians were taken to the hospital, and the driver is cooperating with the authorities. South Peoria Street was shut down between Florida and Jewell avenues starting at 5:51 p.m., with drivers advised to take Havana Street as an alternative path.
