
Sophomore from Carthage dies in solo car crash
The Carthage, Missouri community is saddened by the passing of a high school student. Sadly, sophomore Brianna Morris lost her life in a car crash on Thursday night. The Missouri state Highway Patrol reported that she was a passenger in a pickup truck that veered off Fairview Avenue, striking a tree two miles west of Carthage. Morris was pronounced dead approximately an hour after the incident. The 18-year-old female driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield. To provide assistance during this difficult time, Carthage schools will have counselors available on Monday from 1-2pm, with ongoing support throughout the week.
