
Sole survivor of fatal Air India plane crash calls survival a 'miracle'
The single survivor of the crash from the India-bound Air India flight that tragically went down shortly after departing from Ahmedabad was Viswashkumar Ramesh. In an interview with DD India, he described his survival as miraculous, stating, "I can't explain." The flight was en route to London Gatwick Airport and was carrying 242 individuals, with only one survivor and 241 confirmed fatalities, per Air India's statement on the incident. The survivor, identified as a British national of Indian descent, recounted the terrifying experience of waking up amidst numerous deceased passengers. Prime Minister Narenda Modi met with Ramesh following the crash, while Air India extended its deepest condolences to all those affected. Boeing expressed sympathies for the victims and their families, offering full support to the investigation led by India’s Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau.
