Soldier in ultra-Orthodox Hashmonaim Brigade dies in car crash
Sergeant Shimon Tubol, a soldier in the haredi Hashmona'im Brigade, tragically lost his life in a car accident during his time off from the army. The incident occurred on Route 457 near Ma'ale Mikhmas in Binyamin. Tubol, serving within the newly established Hashmonaim Brigade which aims to involve soldiers from the haredi community in combat roles, had previously been part of the haredi battalion Netzah Yehuda before transitioning to the Hashmonaim brigade. Tubol's friend Yedidya Boskovich fondly remembered him as a kind-hearted individual who served the country wholeheartedly. In the aftermath of the accident, four other individuals sustained various injuries and were transferred to Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital for treatment. Emergency responders described the scene as challenging due to the severity of the vehicle damage and provided medical care to those involved.
