A soldier from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) tragically passed away due to a "training accident" while overseas, as reported by the U.S. Army at Fort Campbell, Ky. Sgt. Terell Seales, 34, of Florence, New Jersey, was described as a motor transport operator assigned to the "Strike" 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division. The incident occurred during training at the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Hohenfels, Germany. Col. Duke Reim, commander of the 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team, praised Seales as an exemplary leader and soldier who motivated others to excel. The military noted that Seales had joined the Army in 2021, served at Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Drum, New York, before arriving at Fort Campbell in 2024 for his second deployment in Germany. He had also completed the Army Basic Leader Course and received various accolades, including the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal. The Army expressed gratitude for the rapid response and steadfast support from their German Allies. The incident is currently under investigation, and no further details have been provided.
