Soldier at Fort Campbell dies in overseas 'training incident'

A soldier from the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) tragically passed away due to a training accident near Camp Croft, Hungary earlier this week. 24-year-old Sgt. Aaron Cox, hailing from Mabank, Texas, served as an infantryman with the “Strike” 2nd Mobile Brigade Combat Team of the 101st Airborne Division. The incident, which occurred during preparations for Exercise Saber Guardian 25, involved a vehicle crash leading to Cox's passing. Leaders in the division expressed their sorrow at the loss, highlighting Cox's strengths as a soldier and leader. The division is offering support to Cox's family during this difficult time and expressed gratitude towards Hungarian Allies for their assistance. Cox, who began his Army journey in 2021, trained at Fort Benning, Georgia, before joining Fort Campbell in 2022. His service included deployments to Poland in 2022 and Hungary, during which he received various awards and decorations for his outstanding performance.
