Snowmobile crash results in the death of Wisconsin man near Morris, according to coroner
A 34-year-old man from Wisconsin tragically lost his life in a snowmobile accident in the vicinity of Morris, a far southwest suburban area. The incident occurred at around 8:40 p.m. at the crossing of the I&M Canal and Nettle Creek, as reported by the Grundy County Coroner's Office. Cody C. Woitekaitis, a Milwaukee resident, was identified as the victim. According to initial findings, Woitekaitis was heading east on the snowmobile when he collided with a sign while approaching the viaduct. The impact caused him to be thrown off the snowmobile and strike the viaduct's concrete structure, resulting in his death at the location. The exact cause of the crash has not been disclosed by authorities. Investigations into the incident are being carried out by the Coroner's Office and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.
