Yesterday at the annual East Liberty Black Arts Soul-Steppin, Boots-on-the-Ground Wellness Festival, a concerning incident occurred where a parked car unexpectedly rolled into a group of vendors and employees, injuring six individuals. Emergency services promptly responded to the scene following reports of the incident. Ricco J.L. Martello, an event photographer, recounted the sudden turn of events, stating that the car started moving unexpectedly after the driver exited. Fortunately, the car's owner remained cooperative and mentioned that he believed the vehicle was secure in park. Despite the unfortunate accident, the festival persevered as community members continued to support one another. Festival organizer Anita Drummond stressed the importance of maintaining an inclusive and supportive atmosphere for all attendees, highlighting the festival's contribution to revitalizing the community.
