Sikhs for Justice hold prayer outside St. Lucie jail, demand fair trial in fatal crash case

Sikhs for Justice recently held a prayer service outside the St. Lucie County Jail to honor the families of the three individuals who tragically lost their lives in a crash, as well as to show support for Harjinder Singh, the man accused in the case. The group emphasized their commitment to seeking justice for the victims and ensuring a fair trial for Singh. At the gathering, a lawyer representing Singh shared his remorse over the incident and highlighted his history of fleeing India due to political persecution. Concerns were also raised about potential discrimination against Singh and the wider Sikh community. The St. Lucie County Public Defender’s Office emphasized the importance of avoiding turning the case into a political spectacle. Singh, who faces multiple charges in connection to the crash, is currently held without bond at the county jail.
