
Several injured in a collision involving four vehicles in Bedford County
Emergency responders in Bedford County, Virginia, were called to the scene of a serious four-vehicle accident on the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Bypass on May 5th. The Bedford County Fire Department arrived at around 3:52 p.m. to find a chaotic situation with one vehicle overturned. Two individuals were trapped inside the flipped vehicle, while another person in a commercial van also required assistance. Firefighters and rescue teams sprang into action to stabilize the vehicles and rescue those in need, which included performing a "door pop" to free one of the trapped occupants. Following successful extractions, the injured individuals were transported to the hospital for medical care. The bypass had to be temporarily closed to allow crews to clear the wreckage. The fire department expressed gratitude to the Bedford Police Department for their assistance at the scene.
