Seven transported to local hospitals following Rock Island crash
Seven people were transported to hospitals with varying degrees of injuries following a two-vehicle accident in Rock Island. According to a release, the Rock Island Fire Department was dispatched to 11th St. and 42nd Ave. March 14 at 4:46 p.m. for a report of a traffic accident. According to records, a Jeep traveling southbound ran a red light at the intersection and struck a Nissan. Eight people total were in the vehicles, and one was trapped inside the Nissan. That person was extricated and transported to a local hospital. Additional support at the scene was provided by Moline Fire Department paramedic ambulances.
