
Serious injury reported in two-car crash on U.S. 231
JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WMBB) - A collision on U.S. 231 has caused a blockage across both northbound lanes on Monday. According to a news release, a two-car crash occurred at 3:20 p.m. on U.S. 231 at Wilmington Ct. Both vehicles were traveling north in the outside lane of the highway. While one car drove at a reduced speed due to mechanical issues, the other attempted to avoid collision by steering right off the lane. The second vehicle still made contact with the rear right of the first vehicle. In a maneuver to steer back into the outside lane, the second vehicle overturned to its right side and came to a final stop across both northbound lanes of U.S. 231. The first driver, a 49-year-old man from Panama City, was reported with no injuries. The second, a 55-year-old man from Eustis, is reported with serious injuries. This is a developing story.
