Serious injuries in car fire following accident
A vehicle collision led to a car catching fire, resulting in one individual being hospitalized with severe injuries on Saturday night, October 25, as per the Colorado Springs Police Department. CSPD informed that at approximately 11:45 p.m. that night, law enforcement was dispatched to the area of East Woodmen Road and Banning Lewis Parkway, located to the east of Marksheffel Road, where a vehicle was found ablaze after a two-car crash. Thanks to the help of fellow motorists who had stopped, two individuals were able to exit the car. The passenger was later hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver of the other vehicle had fled the scene on foot before the arrival of the police, according to CSPD. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities suspect that both speed and alcohol played roles in the crash.
