
Serious injuries for cyclist in Pittsfield car collision
The Pittsfield Police Department is currently looking into a collision involving a cyclist and a vehicle that took place on Cheshire Road late Friday night. Emergency crews arrived at the scene in front of Berkshire Gas Company around 8:39 p.m. following reports of the incident. Initial findings indicate that a driver traveling northbound reportedly struck a 33-year-old cyclist from behind. The cyclist sustained serious head injuries and was transported to Berkshire Medical Center for treatment. Cheshire Road was closed for approximately four hours as authorities worked to investigate and clear the area before being reopened early Saturday morning.
