Serious injuries after 27 collision involving two vehicles
VICKSBURG, Miss. (VDN) — A serious collision occurred on Highway 27 at Paxton resulting in injury to one individual. At around 3:45 a.m., a blue Chevy sedan and a white SUV collided at the intersection of Highway 27 and Paxton Road. While the exact cause of the incident is still being investigated, it appears that the northbound blue sedan and the southbound SUV made contact during the collision. The driver of the blue Chevy sedan was trapped and sustained serious injuries. Emergency responders from the Warren County Fire Service and Rescue were able to free the driver using tools like the "Jaws of Life." The driver was then transferred to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Meanwhile, the three occupants of the white SUV, including an uninjured infant, were also taken to a hospital for evaluation. The roadway was temporarily closed while authorities cleaned up the debris, but has since reopened.
